How Rooted Self Manifested…

The Rooted Self was born from a desire to offer integrated experiential yoga based healing and lifestyle practices alongside stress reduction, self care, respite, and spiritual nourishment to individuals moving through or beyond challenging health / life seasons. This desire is based on the belief that we inherently have what we need within to encourage, support, facilitate, and sustain our life’s journey no matter how difficult the path.

The intention at The Rooted Self is to empower individuals towards manifesting a healing journey that is life-affirming and existentially empowering while aligning with their present moment as it exists. It is important to recognize that “healing” at The Rooted Self is defined as finding balance in an imbalanced state and is achieved when ease returns to the relationship between mind, body, and Soul. This process beautifully unfolds on the mat and, when invited, stretches into the spaces of our life experience.

The offerings at The Rooted Self are deeply rooted in nature wisdom, and are intended to experientially guide individuals in restoring their sense of Wholeness and Oneness. This design fosters the relationship between our inner and outer worlds, a relationship that will intentionally support and facilitate deeper layers of healing, self expansion, inner trust, and intuitive knowing.

Anaiya has over 20 years of personal yoga experience and over 12 years of teaching experience in private, clinical, and community settings, with specific focus on individuals who are moving through life seasons, navigating burn-out, traversing trauma, or healing through illness.

Anaiya brings the practice of Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Embodied Movement, Somatic Movement, and Yoga Nidra to her student’s mats. She holds advanced yoga certification in guiding individuals in trauma release, soothing anxiety, and reducing the affects of panic. She intricately combines these practices with mindfulness teachings, mentoring, reflective self-inquiry, yoga philosophy, Earth wisdom, energy healing, and spiritual attunement. Her approach is deeply intuitive and Spiritually led.

Anaiya extends her offerings into the community with an inspirational heart through a variety of collaborations with other healing practitioners, clinics, and spiritual communities. She currently teaches for Moving Beyond Cancer Collaborative where she provides Yinstorative, Nidra, and a soul-nourishing teaching called Soul Connect.

Anaiya completed her yoga teacher training through Sundara Integrative Yoga Therapy, studying under mentor Genevieve Yellin, E-RYT500, C-IAYT.  She became certified in Trauma Informed Yoga through Sundara in 2012 after desiring a deeper understanding and comprehension of the correlation between the mind-body and trauma. She builds this knowledge upon the foundation of her academic career with a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas, Austin, as well as her earlier life work in hospice, behavioral health, and medical social work. These experiences have informed Anaiya’s current life work and its importance to One’s self-care, respite, and renewal during life’s seasons. Anaiya is currently pursuing a Death Doula Certification which she hopes to weave into Rooted Self offerings to support individuals on their Soul journey beyond the matter body.
