Through the beautiful dance of breath, meditation, and gentle movement we will weave the mind, body, and Soul back together to help you unwind, release tension from your day, and restore the nervous system. This practice is a blend of gentle yoga with an occasional use of the chair to support deepening our connection with and to the body.
Through this gentle practice we have the opportunity to restore body trust, body safety, and overall harmony within the internal landscape of Self.
A practice sure to restore your inner peace and outer calm. Welcome home.
A note about Chair: Integrating a chair into one’s yoga practice is a compassionate offering for the body. It invites expansive movement that honors the body's boundaries of balance and mobility, while offering the mind a bit of brain "exercise" through bilateral and cross-body posturing that inspires one's coordination. To prepare for our practice, please ensure that you have a stable chair to practice on. For a more supportive foundation, you are invited to place your chair upon a yoga mat. Please avoid using chairs with wheels or rollers.
No class Thursday, December 26, 2024 or January 2, 2025
Yoga Nidra or “yogic sleep” is an ancient meditation and conscious relaxation practice that supports and encourages physical, spiritual and emotional restoration. Yoga Nidra has been widely proven in research to reduce stress, alleviate insomnia, reduce anxious energy, reduce chronic pain and offer healing relief from trauma symptoms. This beautiful restorative practice invites you onto your mat, couch or other supportive surface for a full 45-55 minutes of integrated guided meditation. Because this practice is done virtually, the lasting effects can lovingly guide you into a tranquil sleep without being interrupted by a drive home.
Join me every Thursday evening as we take a meditative journey towards ease. I invite you to bring blankets and pillows into a quiet nurturing space. “Light” an electric candle if you’d like or simply illuminate your space with a night light. Add a little aromatherapy, eye mask, or spa face mask to enhance your experience.
What to Expect:
Should you wish to arrive early to familiarize yourself with our virtual space, I welcome you 15 minutes prior to our start time. During this time, I am available to answer any questions prior to our practice. Upon beginning our meditative journey, you are kindly asked to turn off your cameras (if they are on) and microphones during the Nidra experience. Our guided meditation journey lasts about 50-55 minutes. Should you need to leave the practice at any time you can do so by pressing the "LEAVE" button on your Zoom screen. Once our practice is complete, I will end the Zoom experience on your behalf to support further relaxation settling in. Should you need assistance with Zoom, that guidance is offered in your registration confirmation.

A gentle restorative yoga class for individuals affected by cancer.
This beautiful soul enriching class invites an opportunity for you to receive respite, relaxation, and nurturing renewal.
Restorative is a type of yoga that is designed to calm the fight-flight system and activate a relaxation response. Poses are supported with a variety of props and participants are asked to “melt” into a posture for up to three minutes. Research shows that by participating in this type of class on weekly basis, one can bring balance to the nervous system, decrease stress, and reduce anxiety related energy.
You do not have to have previous experience in yoga to participate in this class. Restorative simply offers you the opportunity to release by allowing the Earth and props to be the support you need.

To prepare for class
Consider what will support the body as it rests in stillness:
You may wish to lay on a yoga mat or sit in a chair.
If sitting on the floor, it's helpful to sit on a cushion to elevate the hips above the knees.
A blanket over the lap or shoulders can be grounding.
Please arrive with your camera on, and you may leave it on or turn it off during the practice.
